This morning the usual greeting committee was in place. Riley and Dean take so much joy from welcoming their friends to school in the morning. The greeters were doing their important job this morning, making their friends feel welcome and loved. As each new friend arrived, they went to some of their favorite activities for first thing in the morning. Ella O. chose to paint with beautiful blue water colors in the art room. Camille chose to work at the writing center. For Cole, magnets were his first choice, while Emma got into working on puzzles. In between arrivals, Dean made a picture of a biiiiig truck! Riley poured beans with Rhys and Emma. Riley and Dean also went in to the kitchen and cooked up some delicious breakfast for the whole group!
After settling into the day and heading out front, Alex, Bronwen, and Emma took to bouncing and rolling the balls all over the yard. Dean climbed up into the bog tower to look out while his friends played below. Ella O. made the tower into a house, while Ben slid down the slide with hands in the air and a grin on his face. Anthony took on the rock wall and the obstacle course. Rhys also got his muscles going by jumping on a bike and riding around the path. Along the path were several beautiful periwinkles fluttering up and down and all around. Maddy, Cole, Vivian, Ava and Camille joined in together and fluttered with glee. After a little while, Cole and Maddy hopped on their bikes for some races. Rhys finished his biking and went on a trip to see his mama.
Out in the back, Ella O. was at the big easel painting a masterpiece. Maddy and Cole decided to paint some pieces of their own and joined in with Ella O. Painting was a very popular activity today! Anthony, Alex, Rhys, and Dean also showed off their artistic skills at the easels. Riley took a turn as well.
The sandbox was the next stop for Maddy, Dean, Emma, and Cole. They used their tools and worked together to build and scoop and smoosh the sandy muck.
