Dean and Anthony came in this morning with a skip in their step and asked for some music to be played. Anke was happy to turn on some tunes and get our Monday started right with a dance party! Riley came in and was happy to join in; dancing is one of her favorite things to do too! Ella Jude and Emma both came in and also felt like getting creative, but they chose to use visual art instead. They walked over to the art room, chose their paint, and let loose.
The writing center was buzzing with activity. Camille was there working first with pink markers, then adding green. Maddy used the paper and scissors to cut out special shapes. She then used those pieces to construct animal hiding places. Vivian made her own special creation with the paper and markers and titled it “hers.” Dean and Alex worked at the next table with the dreidels, while Ben hung out in the bear cave to warm up for his day.
In the front, Ella O. made an announcement, “Ella O. is gonna slide.” And she did! Then she promptly ran away and made a few laps around the yard before doing more sliding. Ella Jude saw how much fun the slide was, so she climbed up to try it out for herself. At the bottom of the slide, Riley, Emma, and Ava were really embracing the true meaning of silliness. They pick out a few of the big balls and then, while working at balancing on top of them, they girls commenced bouncing. They kept it up until they just couldn’t hold in the giggles anymore. It was a fantastic, bouncing giggle-fest. They were having so much fun, they didn’t want to keep it to themselves. Emma invited Anthony to come join in the silliness and offered him the purple ball. Ben was loving life, hanging out in the black tube and watching his giggling group of friends.
On the bike path, Dean hopped on a bike and started the race around the track. Vivian chose the trailer bike. She really had to put her strong muscles to use to give her friends rides! Maddy also chose a bike, while Cameron jumped on a scooter. Alex used his bike to play Red Light, Green Light on the path. Rhys pedaled around the bend going to see “a mama.” In the midst of all the bikers, Camille was Queen of the Bridge, surveying her land and supervising the bike races.
In the sandbox, Cameron and Maddy decided it was time to go to college. So, of course, they had to make their beds all by themselves. That is what you must do if you are in college. Nearby on the deck, Camille was working at the big easel. She called her masterpiece “This.” Alex was inspired by Camille’s work and made his own version of “This.” Dean also got to painting, then moved on to water pouring. Collin, Ella Jude, Ella, and Anthony were working away with both painting and gluing. Ben, Vivian, and Emma joined in and got their creative juices flowing as well. Riley made her own painting for her mom and for her dad, while Ella O. worked at the big easel on a wonderful piece for her mom. Ava worked at the hot gluing station on a gift for her mom as well!
Enjoy your evening!
