Journal 11-15-11

This morning, Chloe, Erica and Bella worked hard in the art room; the girls painted while Bennett kneeled on the black rug and began playing with the cars. Hadley worked with the magnetic shapes. She created a pie and presented it to Anke exclaiming, “I made a big pie!” Bella soon left the art room and began working at the writing center. Oscar arrived and soon found himself playing at the table whilst talking to Anke. Keira walked in and immediately headed for the writing center. She diligently cut out pictures alongside Isabella. When Cooper walked in, he spied Oscar at the table and invited him to play in the sand bucket with him. The boys chatted and poured sand until it was time to clean up for breakfast.

After we ate, some of the children were given the option to stay inside while the rest of us went outside. Outside, Chloe and Isabel kicked the giant exercise balls while Erica and Bella ran ‘round and ‘round the bike path. Bennett and Collin took over the play structure; it was their pirate ship. The pirates manned the ship while Isabel, Chloe, Erica and Cameron turned into Kitties.

It wasn’t long before the kids decided it best to head back inside and play downstairs. Bennett, Collin and Bella built a railroad while Chloe sent balls rolling down the ramps she had set up on the stairs. Erica, Cooper, Rachel and Isabel hung out in the loft. The friends dressed up, built building out of the colored blocks and soon after became kitties.

Upstairs, Zach, Oscar and Keira were busily working in the art room; the three chatted while they worked with the clay. Eventually, the three friends migrated to the easel where they began to paint while Cameron and Hadley worked at the writing center.

Have a good night!
