Cameron was the first one here and got busy at writing and cutting. He is interested in learning to write his name! He’s making headway each day as he enjoys the learning process. Camille helped Anke with a note that needed to be put on the front door first, then she moved to the writing center. Vivian joined in and completed her own work with the paper and markers. The girls even added a few stickers to their work!
Anthony and Rhys made an excellent team this morning. They saw empty tables and a full kitchen, so they decided to set the restaurant up. These boys were focused as they placed the table settings and even dished up a few meals. Once the restaurant was set and ready to go, Anthony moved to work with the blocks. Emma joined him and built a beautiful Cinderella castle.
In the locker room, there was a rousing chorus of The Five Little Pumpkins! The song tells about five silly little pumpkins that “roll out of sight.” Where do they go? That depends on who you ask! Cameron said they were sleeping in their pumpkin house and Maddy heartily agreed. Collin and Ella thought the pumpkins might roll to the beach where they would sleep. Alex said the pumpkins rolled all the way to the park. Ben and Vivian thought so too! Riley and Emma both said those silly pumpkins probably rolled to the farm, but Camille said the pumpkins would roll to a puppy!
Out in front, Ella made some delicious ice cream in grape and flower flavors. She even made a bag out of a towel and wrapped it neatly around the cone! Emma also sold some tempting ice cream; her flavors were chocolate and raspberry.
Cam, Maddy, Collin were having a blast on the bike path, pedaling up the hill and round the bend. Vivian hopped on a bike and joined them. Next to the bike path, Anthony started out at a brisk pace, running all over the yard. He then spotted the black tube and took his path through it!
The tower was a very busy place. Today the top of the tower was a house and the friends at school were expecting guests to come through their front door. While they waited for their guests, Riley slid down the slide, then ran around, over, and through the tires. Camille followed Riley down the slide and told Anke, “I am going super fast!” Ben took a turn on the slide as well, but he used the rock wall to get up to the top, instead of the ladder. Alex thought the tires lying next to the tower looked fun, so he rolled his own around the yard, then went off skipping while singing songs and counting joyfully.
Out in the back Camille, Vivian, and Alex started out with water pouring, then moved to the big easel for some painting. The sandbox was their next stop for scooping, pouring, and building to their hearts’ content. As they exited the deck to get to their sandbox work, Collin and Ella made treasures at the hot glue station. Maddy and Cameron joined in the creation and came up with some amazing pieces.
On the deck, the group got to share in some scientific discovery! They started out with a few cups of baking soda, some vinegar in different colors, and some eyedroppers. What do you think happened? Vivian, Maddy, and Cameron started out, and with just a few drops, volcanoes came to life! Emma, Ella and Ben were also part of the experiment. Between creating new volcanoes and talking about why the colors changed, it was an amazing time of discovery.
Have a great evening!
