The children have been asking to turn the school into a rocket ship, so today we began work on the transformation. So far the rocket ship has controls, steering, seats and a light switch to use when it’s time for sleeping. This morning Chloe and Rowan were the pilot astronauts who flew their friends in the rocket ship. Nerissa and Daphne were passengers. A countdown began and the rocket launched. On their way up, a fire started inside the rocket. Luckily, Rowan came prepared in special shoes and had a hose. He took care of the fire promptly and they continued on their journey.
Later we headed outside to the gray clear day where Nate became a hopping kangaroo while Chloe and Maddy opted for wild cats who lived at the top of the tower. On the bike path, Collin drove a tow truck while Cinderella (Ella) drove a princess car. Gabby and Ava were super bats and Ruby princess Rapunzel. Before long the super bats connected with Seren and Nate. The foursome skipped all over the yard. Rock was our emergency guy. When someone needed help he immediately responded.
In the back, Ruby, Ava and Gabby climbed into the sandbox to search for treasures. Rowan set up some objects over in the water pouring station and watched the water as he tried a variety of ideas. Nate read a book while Anthony painted on the big easel. Rock took a turn when Anthony was done. Inside, Chloe, Maddy, Collin and Rowan worked together to build a racecar truck. Nerissa, Seren and Eliana were dogs who scared away the astronauts. Reed was manning the controls of the rocket ship and he was mindful of the dogs. Ella worked at the writing center on a big picture for her mom.
