Journal 10-25-12

Upon arrival Chloe searched for our sea slug. Once she found him she seized the purple dragon costume, put it on and named herself Violet. Nerissa and Daphne painted together in the art room. While painting, the girls chatted about their moms putting on makeup, the colors, the brushes… Enticed by the paint and the conversation, Violet joined the girls. Zach was busy preparing a picnic. As he prepare, he shared with Anke, “This is funny. I am going on a picnic and bringing a toaster.” When the picnic was ready to be had, Zach requested the girls join him. The foursome feasted right next to the fire station. Meanwhile, Lewis constructed with the Tinker Toys. As he built, Lewis told Anke about the new exhibit at OMSI with a fun slide and how the new exhibit was really fun and really loud. Lewis also mentioned, “My dad is signing me up for soccer.” Bennett listened to Lewis’ adventures as he worked at the writing center. Anthony painted and then watched the fish swim.

In the front, Rock, Lewis and Nate had a horn which was used to announce, “I am king of the forest.” by each boy in turn. After that, the trio was off running through the forest. In time, Nate and Lewis morphed into pigeons who liked to roll in the dirt and mud. Reed, Zach and Oscar were Power Rangers- running around and posing. Nerissa and Eliana watched all of the action from the top of the tower. Quickly, the girls slid down the slide and went on a picnic. As the girls ate, they noticed a yellow jacket had joined their picnic. Nate buzzed all around the girls’ food and so the girls ran from their picnic. Anthony used the slide while Daphne camped out on a towel and then bounced herself on a big ball.

Ruby, Chloe and Bennett were dragons who could fly. They flew over to the bike path and flew even faster on a trike.  Reed, Maddy and Oscar joined the flying dragons and together they searched for dragon food for their baby. Dragon Daphne flew over and needed a vehicle too, Oscar was glad to give up his so she had one to use.

Inside, Rock, Oscar and Reed had a birthday party for Reed. He had tons of presents to open and cake to eat. Meanwhile, Lewis used the legos and Ruby dressed as the pink poodle named Pluto with Daphne as her mom.  Downstairs, Bennett was a dragon and Zach, Anthony, Chloe and Maddy used wooden blocks and ramps to assemble a building which was later used to roll balls down. Nate was working. While Nerissa and Eliana ice skated to work.  The girls had so much fun ice skating that they didn’t ever actually make it to work…

We had music today. We sang about the sun, the rain and pumpkins!
