Journal 9-6-12

Nerissa and Bennett utilized the writing center this morning while Chloe was Pluto the puppy busily working with play dough. When Daphne arrived Pluto headed to the kitchen with her to help cook food for the restaurant. Nerissa and Eliana promptly sat at a table in the restaurant and awaited their meal. Zach and Cam painted with dauber paints in the art room. When their work was done there the boys began molding the clay. Upon his arrival Lewis set up the cars and magnetic shapes and went to work. Today, we all collaborated on some notes to send to our kindergarten friends. We will keep them around for a few days to be sure everyone gets to share in that.

Ruby, Maddy, and Chloe took turns going down the slide until Chloe proclaimed, “We’re late! We’re late! We are all late for school” At that the girls ran around “getting ready and dashing to school.” Daphne and Gabby also took turns on the slide- sliding down as princesses. After a while, Ruby joined Lewis to play with the huge box. Nate eventually joined Lewis and the box transformed into a house. Lewis referred to it as “Digger Baby.” Reed, Zach (aka Fireblaze), Nerissa, Oscar, Eliana, Mila and Rock all worked together to make a river with the bark chips. Nerissa wore a special bathing suit that cleaned the river. When the river was clean the group went fishing and then built a sand trap. On the bike path Cam gave Bennett a ride on the trailer bike. Gabby became Daphne’s mom and tended to her very lovingly.

In the back, Maddy, Chloe, Daphne, Lewis and Gabby all climbed into the sandbox to make sand cookies. Mila, Rock, Zach and Reed used the water station and the big easels to make chocolate pink cake. Zach ventured into the sandbox to dig holes. Shortly thereafter Rock and Reed joined him- they were working hard to get the job done! Nerissa, Cam, Nate, Ruby, Oscar, Eliana, Bennett were at the blue table making paper plate ocean drops. When Cam was done with his he set out as our security guard. In time, Bennett, Oscar and Mila joined the crew in the sandbox.

Have a wonderful evening!
