Cole and Kaito made burgers with the beans in the bean tub this morning. Nearby Daphne crafted herself a necklace and then went to work taking pictures of her friends. Nerissa helped Cam to put on a tattoo he found. Chloe arrived as a mouse and eventually morphed into a dog.

In the front, Nerissa, Rock, Oscar and Mila utilized our chalk while Kaito, Zach, Reed, Cole, Maddy and Chloe all zoomed around the bike path. Kaito and Cole imagined they were Batmans, going to the airport and then off to Japan. Cam was their green-red light until he decided to join Chloe and Maddy in their game of super gummy bears. Daphne and Gabby hung out at the top of the tower while Anthony used the slide. Daphne and Gabby arrived at the bike path as sisters and each hopped on a bike to go to Antarctica. Later, Zach was a worker on the road and Reed a runner carefully running through the construction.

In the back, Daphne, Nerissa, Rock, Kaito, Mila and Gabby worked hard in the sandbox while Collin and Ella painted with shaving cream and watercolors on the deck. Maddy and Chloe painted together on the big easel while Reed, Oscar, Cam and Zach hot glued. Anthony busily experimented with the water buckets. After a while Reed took a turn on Lucky and Cole painted the big easel.

It was a busy Friday as the children geared up for the day. Alex came in with a huge grin on his face and made an announcement: “I’m gonna be three on my birthday.” And then headed over to the table and worked on the Bob the Builder puzzle with Vivian. Asha and Riley arrived and headed to the writing center. They used the scissors to cut out shapes and added stickers for decoration. Elsa came in and headed to the art area. She decided that she wanted to use the dog toys and purple paint to make her masterpiece. Over on the black carpet Dean was busy with the cars. Ben spent a few minutes watching the fish and then joined Dean at the carpet. The two of them lined up their cars as they got ready to start their race. Over at the hair shop, Camille was busy fixing Anke’s hair while Rhys listened his favorite story Tikki Tembo. A few minutes later, Alex and Kaito helped set up the table for breakfast.

After breakfast the group headed outside for some fun and exploration. Maddy and Vivian were Swiper foxes running around the playground swiping things here and there. Over in the grass, Kaito and Dean started a game of soccer. Up on the tower Asha, Elsa, Luca and Ella J climbed up the rock wall and slid down the slide. Down below, Camille and Bronwen were keeping house. After taking several turns on the slide, Asha, Elsa and Ella J went to visit the girls in the house. They were getting ready to have a grand party and needed to get some groceries. Off they headed to the grocery store to get their food for the party. The bike path was busy as usual as Ben, Turner, Maddy, Vivian, Alex and Rhys zipped around the path on their speedy bikes. Riley set up a hot chocolate stand and sold it to the bikers as they passed by.

Around back Dean and Luca were busy pouring water and playing Hide and Seek. The sandbox was full of busy workers preparing and making food for their restaurant. Kaito, Maddy, Vivian, Asha, Bronwen, Camille and Riley got to work making vanilla and chocolate mashed potatoes and chocolate cake. Up on the porch Ella J, Turner, Alex and Elsa were busy crafting beautiful pictures for family and friends. Rhys spent some time in the sandbox and then decided to write with some chalk on the sidewalk.

Journal 4.4.14

Dean and Vivian came in this morning smiling and ready to play. They headed straight to the hangers and started making a long hanger chain. A few minutes later, Camille and Bronwen joined in and started their own hanger chain. Riley worked with the magnets at the big table, creating pattern after pattern. Elsa arrived and joined Riley at the table and worked with the stacking blocks. Turner came in and headed to the writing center. He gathered some supplies and got busy putting stickers on his paper. When he finished his project he headed to the art room with Ben and the two of them used golf balls and paint to make some awesome paintings.

Outside Anke and Cecy set out some bubbles. Ben and Turner took turns blowing big and small bubbles while their friends chased the bubbles around the playground. Over in the grass Dean was using the big balls. He rolled and bounced them around the playground before joining Luca at the bike path. The slide was busy with Asha, Elsa and Turner taking turns climbing up the rock wall and sliding down.

This morning the children arrived ready to play house. Ella was the mom and Cameron and Collin were her children. The two ‘brothers’ were busy taking care of the babies while Ella prepared them all breakfast in the kitchen. Dean came in and built a fire station and became a fire man. He went around the room looking for fires to put out. Riley and Vivian arrived and headed to the writing center. Riley got busy drawing a picture for her mom while Vivian used tape, scissors, stickers and yarn to make a picture for her mom. Over at the table, Anthony and Ben were busy working with the magnets.

After breakfast we all headed outside on this beautiful sunny morning. Emma and Bronwen asked for a towel to use on the slide. They headed down the waterslide and into the pool. Over in the grass Maddy, Cameron, Collin, Ella and Kaito started a race. Anthony ran by and joined the girls at the waterslide for a few minutes and then went to join the kindergarteners in the race. Up in the tower Ava, Vivian, Bronwen and Emma were princesses in the castle. Over on the bike path Alex, Dean, Ben and Braeden took turns whizzing around the path stopping every once in a while to buy ice cream at Riley’s ice cream stand.

Over on the black carpet Dean was busy with the cars. Ben spent a few minutes watching the fish and then joined Dean at the carpet. The fire station has been a big hit again this morning. Ben and Turner were our fire truck driver and fire fighter. They had important jobs keeping all their friends safe from danger. Camille came to school as Princess Cinderella. Elsa arrived and headed straight to the art room where she painted pretty pictures and added feathers for detail. Over at the sensory tub, Alex and Ella J poured beans while Cameron, Ella and Asha worked at the writing center. They made all kinds of valentine cards and cut them into different shapes and sizes.

Then it was time to get bundled up to head outside for some large motor activity. The group decided to run, jump and skip around the playground and some even went down the slide a few times. The time outside was cut short due to chilly weather and so the crew headed inside to warm up.

Upstairs Asha, Vivian, Turner, and Emma worked at the clay station making round balls and snakes. Elsewhere Anthony and Riley were busy being Rocket Ships that jumped around and balanced on the black line. Over in the dramatic play area, Emma and Vivian were having a picnic with their babies. A few moments later Anke put on a beach boys cd and Riley, Ella, Anthony and Asha danced around the room.

Downstairs Cameron, Maddy, and Ella J were having a picnic lunch in the tree house. Over by the blocks Ben and Turner were building a cool train station with the train tracks. A short while later, Collin joined the boys at train station and then began to build a ball track. Under the loft, Camille and Elsa were taking care of their babies and feeding them breakfast. Asha finished dancing upstairs and came downstairs to join the girls and right away she started making food for Elsa and Cecy.
